External links in main menus
External links in main menus
This must be easy, but as a new user, I don't see an easy way to include a link to an external web site in the main menu of my site -- it just lists the pages of my site. How can I include an external link in the main menu?

Hi Procupine,
welcome on CMS made simple.
Set content type to link and target to _blank.

Content > Pages > Add New Content
From the first dropdown, choose Link.

Re: External links in main menus
Sorry to bump such an old thread, but this was the closest to my issue in a search.
So, i set the new page to external link and target _blank, input the url in the box and apply, when i click the link in the site menu it takes me to http://mydomain.com/theexternallink.com, not to http://theexternallink.com as i expected.

Re: External links in main menus
Sorry for the double post.
I realised the inputted url must have http://
I actually used mailto:myemailaddy@gmail.com , it works fine.

Yes all links must have a full address, just like it shows up in your browser...
