file manager with user permissions

Hi

I would like to have something like a file management system, where users can view / upload / delete files depending on group / user permissions set by the admin. I tried the Uploads module, but it does not seem to allow deleting files and cmsms' built in file manager can't restrict access(?). Maybe someone knows a good solution for that.
Any suggestion is appreciated! Thanks!

Actually, just adding a delete option to the current uploads form based on group would be great! Allowing users in appropriate groups to also delete files would allow them to administer their own file repositories, which would be very handy.

I'll add this to a feature request for the uploads module.
