IIS Permissions

Post by allspiritseve »

Hi,

I am running CMS Made Simple 1.0.5 on an IIS server. For some reason, it can't write to the tmp/cache folder (nor the other read/write folders). We have tried setting permissions for the guest account (which CMSMS should be running under) for that folder, but it still won't work. The page shows a ton of smarty errors, and then when I refresh it shows my template, but without any smarty tags being processed. What can I do?

Thanks,

Cory

How did you set up the site in IIS manager?
I find that cmsms works best as a virtual directory within the main website, and that you let in read and write to everything in the root and beneath..
Also, check out microsofts knowledge base, you may have to set the permisssions for the root folder first and then drill down to set them up for your site!

I'm not sure, its Information Services at my college that owns the server.  I'll pass your response on to them and see if that helps.
