Can't see editor in admin?
Can't see editor in admin?
I recently installed CMS Made Simple, but find I can't add or edit pages. All it shows is the three tabs (Main, Options, Preview), but no edit box is present. Am I doing something wrong? How can I add or edit pages?
Thanks,

Re: Can't see editor in admin?
No one else has experienced this before?
I did check and FCKeditorX is enabled under User Preferences. The content box shows when "none" is selected, but not when I select FCKeditorX.
I can use FCKeditorX on other websites. It just doesn't work with CMSMS. Both Firefox and IE don't work.
Why won't FCKeditorX show on a brand new installation?

Yes, Javascript is enabled. And I can use FCKeditorX on another website that also uses CMSMS 1.0.2.
The website that doesn't work uses 1.0.5, but will check on other statistics if they're still needed when I get into the office. I'm just surprised it doesn't work out of the box.
I think I had this problem with another CMSMS website I set up, but can't for the life of me remember when I did to fix it. I thought there had been a post that pointed me in the right direction, but right now I'm finding absolutely zero information on this on the forums.

Neither can we. Perhaps a hosting context issue.Mateo1041 wrote: I think I had this problem with another CMSMS website I set up, but can't for the life of me remember wh[at] I did to fix it.

It's not on the same server, but it's with the same host. I use Plesk VPS for both.

Re: Can't see editor in admin?
Here's the Javascript error I'm getting on pages where I don't see the FCKeditorX content box. Maybe it's related?
Code: Select all
Error: document.getElementById(tabs[j].id + "_c") has no properties
Source File: http://www.website.com/admin/themes/default/includes/standard.js

I've attached a screenshot. Surely I can't be the only one with this problem? This is such a great CMS and it'll be a shame if I can't get it working and need to look elsewhere.

Re: Can't see editor in admin?
I just downloaded FCKeditor from http://www.fckeditor.net and tried viewing their PHP samples on the same server. These also don't work. Is there some PHP variable that's not set properly in either php.ini or Apache? Do I need to include some kind of ini_set at the top of my config.php file?

Re: Can't see editor in admin?
Here's an FCKeditor post I created on their discussion board:
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php? ... _id=257180
Hopefully I get a response soon. I couldn't find any adequate PHP information. And I'm not paying $200 for an open source project. In that case I might as well purchase something instead that does work.
