Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

multiple domain/sub folder problem

Post by pcezanne »

Hello, I'm brand new to CMSms and so far I love it. I'm having a bit of a problem however.

I have 2 domains hosted at bluehost.com. secondseeker.com and jeannettecezanne.com (the later just got transferred a few hours ago, so your DNS may not yet have caught up if you are reading this soon after I post it.)

bluehost.com lets you have a second domain that lives in a subfolder off the main domain. So jeannettecezanne.com's files actually live at secondseeker.com/jeannettecezanne and the DNS points requests for jeannettecezanne.com to the subfolder and the web user nevers sees this.

So far no problems.  I uploaded CMSms into the jeannettecezanne folder and got it all running, testing it by going to secondseeker.com/jeannettecezanne.  (I did it this way beacause I didn't want to take down the original jeannettecezanne.com during the transfer of the domain.)

So my DNS finally caught up and I see the new site tonight. Yay!

However, one big problem. All the menus for my pages refer secondseeker.com/jeannettecezanne, not to jeannettecezanne.com.

I can't have this.  I need to have both domains separate from each other. How can I fix this? I don't see a "base address" anywhere in the admin panel. I was thinking of running the install.php again but that worries me, don't want to wipe out my site.

I'm running 1.0.5.

Thank you.

The answer is, of course, to edit config.php

I didn't even need to clear the caches, just started working as soon as a I did that.

I'll lock the topic since I'm happy now. Thanks to all who've read.
