Best Practices with Install

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Best Practices with Install

Post by mono »

Hi all,
New convert to CMSMS here, Been running it on WAMP Server locally for the past while,
Just wondering am I better off building the site locally then exporting it to my webserver or is it better to build it in the server?
Thanks all

I've done it both ways and I can't say whether I like one over the other. I guess it depends on the situation. If it's a new site that nobody knows about, then building it on the server probably won't matter. If it's a redesign of an existing site, then building it off-site would seem to be best.

I'd opt for on-site. I've just experienced some difficulties migrating from XAMMP-Win to my hoster's server. The captchamodule and FCKEditor had some problems due to absolute paths.
