RSS Modules works a treat!! Can I display actual story in my own site?

Post by Darwin Web Design »

Hi,
I have tried out rss module and pirss module and both worked the first time using ABC News as a test.  I was so impressed by how simple this was as I thought RSS would be very hard to set up.  The heading and summary stories appear on the page where I put the tag but the stories actually link to the ABC News site not show in my own site.  The RSS I'm trialling is at: http://www.abc.net.au/news/syndicate/businessrss.xml

I have seen on other sites that the actual stories are displayed in your own website rather than linking to the original website as shown in this example:  http://www.austlinq.com/business/default.htm.  Is something I can achieve too using CMSMS ? - ie get the actual story to show on my own site?

Newbie at syndication (amongst many other things!).

Thanks
;D

you can't display what's not in the feed. http://www.abc.net.au/news/syndicate/businessrss.xml does not include complete articles. only headline, link and summary.
eternity (n); 1. infinite time, 2. a seemingly long or endless time, 3. the length of time it takes a frozen pizza to cook when you're starving.
4,930,000,000 (n); 1. a very large number, 2. the approximate world population in 1986 when Microsoft Corp issued its IPO. 3. Microsoft's net profit (USD) for the quarter (3 months) ending 31 March 2007.

Thanks for that.  I will have to use a feed that does include the complete articles though (I didn't know some did and some didn't).  I couldn't test the one I'm going to use because it wasn't an xml file but will look into that after I register with them.

The feed I need to use is at:
http://www.business.gov.au/Business+Ent ... cation.htm, the business topics on the left are examples of the feeds.

Considering there are complete articles in this service, will this just integrate fully into my cmsms site or do I need to put extra code in my website somewhere?  Thanks

Regards
:P
