Template Externalizer - can't configure

I must be doing something stupid, but I sure can't see what. I installed Template Externalizer 1.0.4 from the admin section of a site I just started work on yesterday.  I can't find any way to configure it or turn on Development Mode. I'm looking in the Module Manager, and there are two modules listed for configuring the Template Externalizer, but both of them are marked as "newer version installed." What am I missing here? I've fished around all over the place and can't find configuration stuff for this. I'll sure appreciate it if somebody can point me in the right direction!

I'm replying to my own post here to say that I found the stupid thing that I wasn't doing. I hope this may help somebody else. I simply forgot to assign myself permissions to Template Externalizer! Dumb, huh?
