Hello,
As you can see from my posting rate, I've been working my rear off with CMS made simple. It's the only one I could find that had both a calendar and a link directory, but I see now - 40 hours into the project unfortunately -- that neither one gets searched by the search engine that comes with CMS made simple. What can I do? Is this an easy thing to add? I really, really, really need it.
Pisearch (another search module) searches the bookmarks, but not the calendar, and not the catalog.
CMS Search searches the entire site except for the bookmarks and the calendar.
I'm really freaked. Is there anyone who can help?

Re: Bookmarks and Calendar Events don't get searched
It's not that hard to add, but I don't want to work on Bookmarks since the code is really a pain.
I've used my PageBlocks module for links: http://www.elijahlofgren.com/bookmarks/
and PageBlocks are searchable: http://www.elijahlofgren.com/index.php? ... turnid=207
Here is what I changed to integrate PageBlocks with CMSMS 1.0's search module: http://viewsvn.cmsmadesimple.org/viewsv ... s&view=rev (click the Diff to previous links)
Edit: and for calendar..... I could maybe be persuaded to integrate that with search this weekend. I'll post that on a virtual sticky note on my desktop and see if I get around to it.

That's awesome about the calendar!
I've already entered so many bookmarks and I like the way it works (don't know anything about code). So far I have a way around it, which is nutty, but it works for me. I enter in all the bookmarks and then I copy the page that's rendered into a new page, then I paste that into a content page and put a redirect with javascript on that page. But the calendar I have no way around since that would be a pain, with bookmarks there's a limited amount of categories. Then, I make it a level three page and hide the ul ul ul in the site map. Nuts, but it works for me.

Re: Bookmarks and Calendar Events don't get searched
I'll likely do Calendar search integration sometime since I plan to make my Blog powered by Calendar since I can get VERY NICE URLs like described in my latest SVN commit to Calendar:carasmo wrote: That's awesome about the calendar!

In addition Calendar supports items in multiple categories and month pagination which is really nice for a blog."NIFTY NEW FEATURE: If pretty URLs are enabled, then event URLs are in the form: /2007/01/07/179-Back-at-Letourneau/ where 179 is the event id and 'Back at Letourneau' is the event title. People wanting to make a blog will now want to give Calendar a try."

Sorry, no. I never did get around to it.Tim Bornholtz wrote:Any update on making the Calendar module content available to search?Elijah Lofgren wrote: I'll likely do Calendar search integration sometime since I plan to make my Blog powered by Calendar since I can get VERY NICE URLs like described in my latest SVN commit to Calendar:![]()
I'm currently busy with my summer job and don't have much time for CMSMS anymore.
You could ask one of the other people who work on Calendar if they would consider adding this feature.
