I am designing a site with a news list on the front page to be edited by only one person. He doesn't think it is necessary to list his user name or category (he will only be posting in one category), so he has asked me to remove that information. I have been trying to find the code that generates those two lines and remove them, and now I've removed all the relevant code lines - I think - but they still keep coming up. I am out of ideas - can anyone help me, please?
Also - where does all the code in the temporary files in come from? For instance - a variable called author_label - which I think contains the value of the user name of the autor - that variable is only in the temporary file - nowhere else in the files of the site. Even if I delete the temporary file - the next time I refresh the pages the temporary file is back with that mysterious variable. I think if I find the source of that variable - I will have solved the problem. Or am I way off?

From the admin panel, click on content-->News. There are two templates there, one for summary and one for detail. Did you make the changes to those templates? If not, that may be why you keep seeing the author name and category.

Yipee - that solved it - easy and clean. Extremely gratefully thanks!

If you're using CMSMS 1.1.1 or 1.1.2, make sure you're editing the correct template. Click on the one marked as default (with the green checkmark) so it shows in the edit window, then change it and submit the changes.
