passing a variable - RedirectContent problem - coming out of module

hello,
  I'd like to return data from a module and have it print out using a custom tag on a regular page. I am currently using RedirectContent to get to the page I need to get to. Is there a function I can use to pass a variable back to a page? Or can I do it using RedirectContent?
