They said these CMS are much more relevant cause there is a lot more echo in all mediums (tons of websites, articles in computer or skilled magazines, blogs, books, videos) ...
This is not a real (listed) article but only a stub in a personal user space.

It's a total hypocrisy.  I've given up on it to be honest.  The "moderators" of that section are way too concerned with keeping the list as small as possible for their own interests. Their relevancy argument is incredibly weak, but we don't have enough advocates to fight it.

Software that's been downloaded over 500k times is not irrelevant.  Plain and simple.

It's no secret that wikipedia is or has been approaching dmoz levels in 'editorial control'. I will see what I can do, probably not much but worth a try.

I think you shouldn't do that - there are a lot articles about that in www (too much energy for a long time and never ending task).

We should look forward. What we have to do to make CMsms relevant for Wikipedia?

Much more promotion - informations about new versions to skilled magazines, writing articles in skilled magazines and writing books on big publishers.

An example: Currently there is a new (german) PHP magazine with an article about the YAML CSS framework. Beside this informations there are some useful hints for YAML with CMSms. This is a way too to let interested people talk about CMSms.

I dont know skilled magazines in US and GB, maybe the first step would be to create a list with contact data - the collection is open  8):

If there are too much idiots we should come from underground :).

Currently I'm trying to push CMSms in Germany. So I have a contact list from some skilled magazines - with every new CMSms version they get a "press information". Sometimes they will release this information on their portal, sometimes not. But they know there's some movement in underground :P.

But in Germany we have a saying - translated it means "constant drop undermines the stone" ;D.

I know, it's a long way but we have no other chance.

So I'm working in some other skilled forums (php, webworker) - there are sometimes questions about CMSms too and I use this chance to talk about.

And to the last I create an entry for CMSms in some software directories.

But the time frame in my spare time is too limited - that's a fulltime job 8).

Hello all,

I agree CMSms is a success. There are lots of sites, users, site-makers...

I think I found CMSms (out of the whole web) with cmsmatrix or such a comparator. Maintaining CMSms entries up to date in such directories should help. Like the Packt Awards, links with journalists, Fame board, happy users blog posts and so.

May be the testimonials webpage could be joined with some marketing/promotion "Who uses CMSms" page with segmentation like industry schools egov communication food tourism shops sport workshops churches...?

I will fully agree. The fact that it places right next to Joomla and Drupal in the Packt awards is not irrelevant as well.

The irritating part is under the PHP section of this article:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cms_list#PHP_2

Every CMS has a page with the following exceptions:

Code: Select all

CMS Made Simple - Deleted
jCore - Deleted
PhpWCMS - Deleted
TYPOlight - Deleted

GCMS - No Content
Lanius CMS - No Content
Out of the 47 Free PHP CMS's listed there explain how CMS Made Simple is one of the 5 not relevant CMS's since there are quite a few smaller CMS's listed and a couple that are just forks of other CMS's. As one of the top 3 CMS's for a few years running now CMS Made Simple should be more relevant than over 40 of those listed CMS's. Personally sounds like a few mods there have a vendetta against CMSMS.
If all else fails, use a bigger hammer.

I agree completely as well, maybe we should setup something like the spread firefox thing, or at least have a group of people dedicated to create marketing buzz or propaganda (whatever flavour you like) about CMS Made Simple?

A website creator magazine has no website?

What a shame ...
