Allowing visitors to upload images

Post by SusanN »

Hi,

I've done a few searches on the boards, but I guess I'm not using the right terms.  Can anyone point me to some reading or info about how to allow visitors to upload images via a CMS MS site?  I'm developing a site for someone who makes custom photo cards and he wants to allow his customers to upload their snapshots for him to use on the cards.  Is there a functionality in CMS MS that would allow this?  Also, I'd really love to see an example.

Thanks for any help!

Maybe, just maybe, one of these modules will help: http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/softwarema ... t=319  I've not used or tested any of them, and I'm not ever planning to.  The only photo/image/album manager I'll use is Gallery

Personally, I know you can do this with Gallery2 and someone is working on reviving the G2Mod integration module:

Though Gallery2 might be a bit heavy for what you're really looking for and it also doesn't like slow database access ;)

Thanks so much for your reply.  I will look into these.

By the way, this is for a new website on a totally different host.  I hope it'll work out very well.

Thanks again!

There is a module Uploads, that will provide the logic to upload files. You can make sure that only certain extensions are valid to be uploaded, also the max-size is a parameter.
