Creating a news article before 2000

Im running 1.2.2 "Holetown"

I use the news module on our site and need to publish some old press releases prior to 2000.

When you set the Publish / Start and End dates I can not start a new news article prior to 2000, is there any way I can modify this so I can go back as far as 1992?

First, upgrade CMSms!  There is a vulnerability in 1.2.2 that's been fixed in 1.2.3

Second, edit /modules/News/templates/editarticle.tpl  It should be pretty obvious once you open that file what to change.
