SVN for Macintosh: MacPorts, Fink, Tigris

Post by ericob »

Subversion works fine on a Macintosh.

Many binary versions of svn (including for the Mac) are listed here: http://subversion.tigris.org/project_packages.html.

Plus, it's available via Fink (http://www.finkproject.org/) or MacPorts (http://www.macports.org/).  There is a fairly nice, free, visual client, "svnX" at http://www.lachoseinteractive.net/en/co ... sion/svnx/.

If you simply want to get the current build, that's hardly necessary though.

Wow, this is great! I just had a look into it and i am really surprised! The new CMSms is really faster than the old one.

Some things are still not working BUT:

WELL DONE, TED!!!

What is the ETA for 2.0?

Post by kendo451 »

This post is near the one-year anniversary of Ted Kulp's announcement of CMSMS 2.0.

There is a lot of buzz about 2.0 from people who have been testing the alpha and beta versions.

Is it possible to give an estimated time of arrival for the public release of CMS Made Simple 2.0?

I have noticed that Ted has been mysteriously quiet for the past six weeks. Could it be because he has been feverishly working on the finishing touches?  Is a major announcement soon to be made?  ;)

We are quite curious...

Download the trunk.

You have to tweak a few things to get it to install though. Just adding some folders etc.

I'd like to see some celebrating announcement, like Joomla guys did for their 1.5 version  :)

As long as the CMSms announcement doesn't look so dumb.

Create all the directories in /tmp manually and make them writeable (777)

if someone wants to play with the template and the styleheets: there is a bug in the plugins/function.stylesheet.php file. In rel it must be "stylesheet", NOT "result", then it works:

example to put in your template:

or modify the plugins/function.stylesheet.php file til the next update comes.

you can just copy all the stylesheets from the CMSMS 1.X versions and if you remove almost all the plugins apart from content it works fine.

Don't bother reporting bugs in the 2.0 series yet.... it's not ready for testing.... and quite honestly, we're not listening at this point.  we're still in the development stage.
