problems installing on godaddy windows server

Ok been away from the forum but back again.  Working on putting together a site for a client that insist they want their site hosted on godaddy windows server.  Never had problems installing cmsmadesimple until now on godaddy.

I uploaded ver 1.2.3 and when I navigate to the install/index.php it returns a blank page and http://www.clientsite.com/cms/install/i ... siontest=1&

1. has anyone successfully installed cmsmadesimple on godaddy windows?  If so, what did you do differently.

I have uploaded 2x just it case it was to corrupted files.  Client wants windows server due to his other applications written in asp.net.  I am an asp dummy so wondering it that will be conflicts in cmsmadesimple being written in php. 

2.  I dislike godaddys control panel and godaddy's phpadmin.  What is the correct way to setup the database in godaddy's phpadmin.

Can you post a link to phpinfo?

I remember reading about some restrictions NoDaddy has put in place that makes it kind of a pain to install a lot of apps and I think I remember reading something specific about CMSms in these forums, so perhaps a search will reveal something

There is a very good reason, which I'm sure you're aware of, why this site exists: http://nodaddy.com/  Unfortunately you're clients are interested only in cheap, unreliable hosting.  Hope they never get on the bad side of anyone or they may find their account suspended one day.

Thanks for the reply.  Yeah I think I read about something like that somewhere on this forum but cannot locate it again.

Ah, that's what it was.  unsafe_mode is stupidly enabled at NoDaddy.  I don't know if there is a work around, I know it's listed to not have safe_mode enabled in the requirements for CMSms.

Good news that in the future (years in the future) this will be a non-issue as PHP 6 has removed the idiotic safe_mode.

I've installed CMSms on GoDaddy (shared, unix) for several different sites, no problems at all.

Yes, but there are people demanding to stack nodaddy and windows and then complaining they have shot in their own foot.
