Some template/stylesheet help needed...

Post by peterman »

Hi,

I am new to cmsms and I have been playing with it and reading up for the last few days. So far I am very happy, I have all of the functionality I need for my site, but I am still struggling with changing a theme...

Basically I would like to create a new theme with my own stylesheet. Normally I grab a copy of a theme and make the changes, save it with a new name and upload and viola, but in cmsms I don't seem to be able to do this very easily...

I have downloaded some of the free themes and some are .xml files, some are .zip files containing .mm and .tpl files...

Can someone explain how I can take an existing theme, edit it, upload it and then apply it to my website?

Also, I am using CMS Made Simple 1.2.3 "Black Rock"

Thanks!

xml file are complete theme (template/css/images);
.tpl file are template (copy/paste to Layout > Templates), css (copy/paste to Layout > Stylesheet) AND ASSOCIATE css TO template, images in uploads/images and check for correct path in template/css

Thanks Alby

I did not see that walkthrough I don't think...

I am just used to editing files and then uploading them as a package, this method seems a lot less intuitive to me...

I will try to follow along with that walkthrough and see how it goes...
