How do YOU backup CMSMS

Whilst hosting companies tell you that they backup data every night I wouldn't want to rely on it.

If you have several installation of CMSMS and their respective databases what automated process have you implemented to achieve a restorable backup.

I have been trying Site Vault but that was a nightmare so I'm currently using MySQL Backup from Swordsky for the databases and Site Shelter for the files.

Site Shelter seems to be OK most of the time but does occasionally report errors.  MySQL Backup seems to exhibit the same tendencies but sfter I've restored a site I get half a page of "Smarty" errors which mean nothing to me.

Any guidance will be appreciated.

As everything should be in the database, once you can restore the database, you should be able to rerun the install wizzard without overwriting the database. Hence a some minutes restore procedure. Try to see if you like it.
