failed to upload successfully into subdirectories

Hi,
I'm running CMSMS v.1.2.3 and I've just realized a problem:

Using the File Manager I can create subdirectories and upload files to the root directory (uploads/). However I cant upload files to the subdirectory created under the root (uploads/test)
I checked the permisions and all is 777.

Safe mode is off in /etc/php.ini
I've trying to find a solution reading forums.. but cant find anything.

Any help is appreciated.

Can you post a link to a phpinfo page?

Have you checked what the setting for open_basedir is set to?

Have you checked what your upload file size is set to?
