admin login won't work ?

Hi everyone,

Have tried everything I can think of - I found the FAQ about resetting the password to admin.

I've read every message in these forums that I can find, but it simply refuses to accept my admin/admin login.

I'm just on a local machine with WinXP SP2 - with Apache 2, PHP5 and MySql.

Which is all working fine - for example phpmyadmin works perfectly well.

I've tried with FF2 and IE7 - both same results.

Would really love to get this going if anyone has any ideas...

Is this a new install? Have you tried reinstalling?

Thanks for getting back - yep brand new- never been installed on this machine before - & new database...
Cleared everything out, deleted database and tried again - exactly the same problem

please have a look at the cookies window in Firefox. What is there ?
(and check your http logS and PHP sessions features)
