Hello again,
Well, I had to re-install CMSMS because I suspected I screwed something up by creating new templates and styles. The problem began when I decided to add a new News article. The News summary appeared properly on the home page and rendered properly when its link was pressed. The problem began after some amount of time, I don't recall how long, maybe an hour? The new article page rendered 'unformatted'. I reinstalled CMSMS and this time just created a new news article. Initially it rendered properly but not today?

I'm running CMSMS 1.2.3, latest News module on a Linux server + PHP 5.2.5
Could someone suggest how to enable specific logging features that would help me to track down this problem?
Much appreciated, Drew
News article opens as unformatted page
Re: News article opens as unformatted page
Considering you only have one page I would hazard to guess it was set up to go to the News page which no longer exist, it would be in the tag {news detailpage="news"} or some such...
Have you eliminated any pages?...

Hey Mark,
Thanks for replying. I kept all the default sample pages and created the new 'construction' page and news article. All other pages and news article were simply disabled.
I just disabled my pages and restore the defaults. Same problem.
I have noticed that the render article just has 'div' tags and not the usual html/head/... tags. I'l ltake a peek at the news php files - assuming that is where the news 'article' page is rendered. I also have CMSMS running as a virtual LAMP under vmware. Will see how the hosted files compare to the vm. Odd thing is that everything is running fine on the vm.
oh, when I mentioned the 're-install' on the host, I simply untar'd the home (and public_html) and restored the mysql backup from the initial clean install.
