Newsletter Made Simple Performances

It took 336 seconds (almost 6 minutes) for NMS to send 49 messages
Does anybody have any explanation for those poor performances ?

Poor server? Message size?

What version of NMS are you using and have you sent any newsletters before?

Thanks for your reply. I use NMS version 1.02. This is the first Newsletter that I send for real with NMS. The message is not very big, it contains about 1'000 words.
Before, I used to send my Newsletters with gmail, and it was almost instantaneous (same message-size, same number of recipients). So, I was very surprised when it took 6 minutes with NMS.

I just wanted to know if someone else has experienced the same poor performances. If I am the only one then probably the problem is not NMS but the server.

I've had varying results with NMS on different server.... on one server it took 55 seconds to send 2 emails..... on another, I sent 10,500 emails in 40 minutes. 

so it's a difficult situation to measure.

Another number to give an order of performacne on rather a slow server: 166 messages in 206 seconds (1.24 messages/sec).

CMSMS: 1.2.3
CMCMailer: 1.73.13
CGExtensions: 1.8
NMS: 2.0.1

Preferences:
Delay (in milliseconds): 100
Delay (in seconds) between each batch: 30
The maximum number of messages to send in a batch: 50

So there were 3 pauses of a total of 90 seconds between the batches.
The sum of the short pauses between the is 165 * 0.1 = 16.5 seconds.
That makes 106.5 secs for coffee brakes for the server and some 99.5 secs for the processing. So finally 0.6 secs per msg.

This is ok for me.
