[SOLVED] config.php cannot be found?

Post by BadPriTT »

After reading the manual carefully first I created the file config.php. Then I uploaded it into the root where I also uloaded my CMSMS and chmod the file config.php to 666. Then I went on with the installation process (FTP) but can not get passed step 1... I keep getting this error: "This file may not exist yet. If it does not, you should create an empty file with this name. Please also ensure that this file writable by the web server process." I even tried setting the permisions of config.php to 777 but I get the same results. All other files/folders where tested OK, besides some safe_mode caution issues (see below):

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

This file may not exist yet. If it does not, you should create an empty file
with this name. Please also ensure that this file writable by the web
server process. Failure

Checking if /***somepath***/modules is writable Success
Checking for file_get_contents Success
Checking if session.save_path is writable
Your session.save_path is "/sessions". Not having this as writable may
make logins to the Admin Panel not work. You may want to look into
making this path writable if you have trouble logging into the Admin Panel.
This test may fail if safe_mode is enabled (see below). Caution

Checking if ini_set works
Although the ability to override php ini settings is not mandatory, some
addon (optional) functionality uses ini_set to extend timeouts, and allow
uploading of larger files, etc. You may have difficulty with some addon
functionality without this capability. This test may fail if safe_mode is
enabled (see below). Caution

Checking if sessions are enabled
Although the PHP support for sessions is not mandatory, it is highly
recommended. Logins and other things may slow down and you may
have difficulty with some addon functionality without this capability. Caution

Checking for tokenizer functions Success
Checking for Safe mode
PHP Safe mode could create some problems with uploading files and
other functions. It all depends on how strict your server safe mode
settings are. Caution

My ISP redirected me back to you so I hope someone can help me out... Also I have gone through this forum but could not find the solution.

I can not get my account on CMSMS Forge to work. It keeps telling me that my account is not valid whenever I want to activate my account. I even tried resetting my password online but this results in the same error: "access denied". I have cookies enabled. My nickname is "BadPriTT".
P.S. I was looking for the Config GUI module !

I hope someone is able to help me and get this CMS up and running.

Thanks in advance,
BadPriTT

BadPriTT,

did you create the file config.php all lowercase? If so, restart the process, dont try a F5 refresh....

Also the account on the DEV must be all lowercase, it doesnt take uppercase characters. SO if you register there, use your nick in lowercase characters.....

Hi,

quote: did you create the file config.php all lowercase? If so, restart the process, dont try a F5 refresh....

What do you mean? The config is empty... ?! the filename is in lowercase indeed, is this wrong or right, you didn't say?

I will try to add a new account in lowercase soon, thanks!

Typo in the naming, congif.php instead of config.php
