Try submitting a page, and see if the file is created then..... It might be generated on submitting/applying on pages...

Ronny
I had to create te file by hand (copy past the sitemap xml into a txt file and upload it)

The file works now but is not getting updated when I make changes.

I'm having the same issues. The XML is generated but not written to a sitemap.xml file. I also have copied the code into a textfile and uploaded it. Anyone have any idea why this is not working properly?

Big issues after clicking install

Post by chuckienorton »

Hey, I just installed, and it gave this error in bright red:

ERROR: The CGExtensions module could not be found.

It then shows this error ever time I go to modules, or help sections of any other module. It's really weird. I looked in ftp & found that the folder actually did upload, so I chmod 777 it, with no luck.

I've simply deleted the folder, and everything looks ok for now. This might have been a one time thing, but just letting you know.

Thanks,
Chuck

Hey Chuck!

have you already installed CGExtensions module? This could be your main problem.

Wow... had no idea. Maybe that should be in description ("must have CGExtentions module installed") or something.

Thanks!

well, at least after installing you see in the module list which dependencies exist...

but it would be better to give that information in advance, you are right

Kevin C wrote: I installed the site map module, and it worked fine. Then I turned on pretty urls using the mod-rewrite method, so all my page names changed. In the sitemap module Info tab, the new (pretty) page names are used, but the physical sitemaps.xml file hasn't been updated, and still has the old "index.php?page=pagename" in the URLs.  I thought the xml file would be updated automatically, but that's not happening.

Here are my settings in the preferences tab:
show hidden pages? No
Change frequency: automatic
Generate a static file: yes
Dynamically update file when content changes? yes

Is there anything else I need to do? I can always just paste the content from the info tab into the file, but I'd like to keep it automatic.
i am having this same exact problem...i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the sitemap module with no luck

My first ever post on here and it's a 'me too' one! I'm having exactly the same problem.

Interestingly though, the sitemap was working when the site was on my pc, using Wampserver. The problem only started after I migrated it to the server

It's a windows server too. Maybe that's something to do with the problem?!?

Oh and I'm happy to provide any info required to solve this, just ask.
