Im running cmsmadesimple-0.11.2 with the News module 2.0.1.
On each page we have News Summaries and the More link to the Details. On this details page, the
title is "title-of-previous-page","newsdetails-title".
You can see this on
http://www.milieudichterbij.nl/index.php?page=geluid . Its title is "Geluid"
The news is on the right, in grey. More == "Lees Door".
The More page is then
http://www.milieudichterbij.nl/index.ph ... returnid=5
and there the title is "Geluid"-"Nieuw Uitzicht"
Note that also the title in the html body is set wrong, here the {title} tag is replaced also with the title of the referring page.
It may be a bug, it may be a feature. On this site, it's a bug. In 0.10 it was okay.
Thanx in advance!
news title appears under referer page title
Re: news title appears under referer page title
I don't know if this really is a bug and not a feature, but you know you can specify a different template in the news module? By default it reuses the template the news module was called in and presumebly does some tricks with it to diplay the news details. you can specify a different (static) template instead.
Re: news title appears under referer page title
This has not been resolved. I'm using CMSMS version 1.1.2 "Savaii" and the native News Module and I'm having these issues on both my CMSMS sites. It's very annoying.
It picks up the title from the refering page. Creating a new template doesn't help because that template is INSIDE that title. So how should I create a different template and tell CMSMS to drop the refering page's title? Ideally, I'd like the H2 title for the News detail to be "News" or something similar.
This is very frustrating and resolving it would really be a boon to further use of CMSMS by me and my clients.
Thanks for any help.
P.S. The development site is here: http://hastingsfirm.mytestbed.com
A live site that is exhibiting this same problem is here: http://www.idylwood.org/index.php

Re: news title appears under referer page title
Me neither. The links for the news articles behave the same as all of the other links.
Can someone post some screenshots that highlight what you are describing?

Re: news title appears under referer page title
[ I'm French, sorry for my approximate english ]
Look at this link. How to name this page with the news' title ?
The problem is the same with the albums photo module. Look at My website and enter one of the three albums. The title of the page will be always "Albums photos", and not "Albums photos - title of the album".
Thanks !

Re: news title appears under referer page title
Oh.... you want the News article title to be the page title, to replace the {title} tag.
That's been answered numerous times,,,, check out the tricks & tips forum.

[solved] Re: news title appears under referer page title
I finally figured out how to solve the problem and I bet you looked at those sites *after* I implemented the change. What I did was to create a new page template called "News" and named it "News" in the menu title and in its actual page title. And pointed the news module to it. Simple as pie. (And I love pie!)
