[SOLVED] CMSMS blocked - impossible to login

Post by Torpedine »

Hello, I have a problem after upgrading my CMSMS website (www.isoladipasqua.it) at the latest version 1.2.3

I cannot login any more because the login page shows two errors:

Warning: Unknown(): open(/tmp/sess_f98bd6b56b6df1bad6364935e6c815bf, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in Unknown on line 0

Warning: Unknown(): Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp) in Unknown on line 0

I have tried everything, also a new upload of the software but the problem persists.
Note that now the tmp folder (with permissions 777) is empty

Thanks in advance

Torpedine,

with EMPTY, do you mean complete empty. So the folders tmp/cache, tmp/templates and tmp/templates_c arent there either.....

If so try, creating these folders under /tmp and check again....

No, the directory structure of /tmp is intact

The error codes appear also on the fronted, i.e. Home page:

Warning: Unknown(): open(/tmp/sess_f98bd6b56b6df1bad6364935e6c815bf, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in Unknown on line 0

Warning: Unknown(): Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp) in Unknown on line 0

What if you re-transfer the package 1.2.3 over your existing files. Make sure that all files are overwritten. It might be caused by a wrong file that wasnt overwritten.

already done without success.

To be sure I have also deleted the CMS files on the server and re-uploaded them.

I wonder if the session_save path is to somewhere other than the tmp folder under your www folder. Is there another tmp folder further up the path, or off the root?

the problem has disappeared by itself. Maybe a Server issue? it seems the same problem listed here: http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php/topic,18379.0.html

A mystery indeed. Anyway thanks to all the people who lost some time with my issue! :)

Yes, I think it is the same hosting problem of broken PHP sessions.
Not a CMSms issue, a hoster issue. PHP sessions must work. Please report this to your host, not here.
