Hi i am very new to CMS this may seem like a silly question but i have had a decent look around and i am unable to find the information i'm after. I currently have a existing site, thats php and HTML and i want to intergrate it with CMS, all the information i have found seems to suggest that this is only for building new pages with templates etc. So i was wondering if it is possible to just incorporate my current site, and if so, how would i go about that
thanks
Intergrating with existing site

Re: Intergrating with existing site
Yeh i click it and nothing happens
I think i am missing something to get my current site incorporated, the site is php and html and all i want to do is be able to edit it via cms.
CMS is installed, but i wasn't the one that installed it, so i don't really know if the person that installed it didn'd do a step correctly or what, i realise this program is supposed to be very simple, its just i cant find anywhere in the admin area to link it to my pages, it just wants me to edit the test page or make brand new content.....what am i doing wrong?

Re: Intergrating with existing site
also the page i want to edit is also sitting on the same web server as cms is, this is really stressing me out as i think i am just missing something simple and ye i cant find it, is this program only meant for creating new pages or something?
Re: Intergrating with existing site
This system uses a DB to store the page content and menus, news items, calendar stuff, etc., so you have to create/recreate the page with it to make it editable, sorry...

Re: Intergrating with existing site
Yes, CMS Made simple is designed to build new sites with, or to convert existing sites entirely to CMS Made simple. Integrating with an existing site is going to be a load full of grief. Due to links, and filename conflicts.
i.e: if you already are using some file names that CMS uses, then it won't work, as CMS expects those files, and there is no easy way to change it. And if you do, then you're tgoing to have grief for the next upgrade.
If you don't have any filename or directory name conflicts, then theoretically it will be possible, but it would be painful creating links back and forth from the old system and CMS.
If you only want the user to edit content on one page, then it may be easier to write your own login mechanism, and install and configure something like FCKEditor yourself. Doing that is outside of the scope of this forum.
