User ID & Password

Hello everyone. I was hoping someone could help me out with an issue. I have a static site...I was hoping to load the CMSMS onto my server and just create one page to add to my static site that would have a user name and password login, where clients could sign up and once logged in, they would be forwarded to another static page. I know this is a bit of a hack job. I'm just looking for a quick fix.

Thank you very much. That is fantastic, I will definately try this. In the mean time is it possible to password protect (user ID & Password). a section of the site?

Thanks for the info. The demo is extremely helpful. Is there a way to have the user auto directed to another page once they have been logged in. In the demo it shows that once logged in, you have to go to the private data page.

Thanks, but actually I need to be able to see who has logged in and downloaded a file. Is that possible?
