GoDaddy, email notification, sessions Re: checking admin username and password

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

GoDaddy, email notification, sessions Re: checking admin username and password

Post by thoneter »

I have 2 domains in the same hosting account at godaddy.  The first domain I did a new install and checked e-mail account information.  I copy and paste the username and password and count digits for the password to make sure that there are no spaces etc.  I did not rec'v a email notification and I was not able to login.  I removed all of the files and reuploaded them and reinstalled.  I chose the e-mail option again.  I did not receive an email notification the second time.  The login did work the second time for the admin for CMSMS.

On the second domain I followed the directions on copying to a new server and it went well except again I did not rec'v an e-mail notification and I'm not able to login to the CMSMS admin panel.  I did the copy and paste and was very thorough because of the previous issues.  After looking around the only thing that I could find that comes close to my issue is "check that php session_save_path is writable'.  If this is my issue then why did reinstalling fix the first issue?  I am a newbie to PHP and CMSMS.  Do you know why out of 4 times of setting up the 2 accounts I did not rec'v an e-mail notification and why the admin login is not working after installs?  Thanks in advance for the help and patience with newbies!  TT

Hello,

I have put your message in a new thread and prefixed its title with new on topic key works (I hope so).

I have seen several issues in these forums with Godaddy. BTW, see http://nodaddy.com
May be your issue is solved in one of them ?

About the non received emails : I don't know the Godaddy configuration about email. But a sender anti spam may prevent your software to send messages.

Please have a look at you http logS. Tell us every single warning you have seen during installation. Then set debug to true, use an supported admin browser (see documentation) and check requirements.

For posting clarity I'd like to ask some questions about this thread.  My problem is that during setup of cmsms it asks for a email to send the login data.  I fill it in and I do not get an email.  I do not block spam on my outlook.  I've contacted my ISP and they claim that it is not blocking emails from you guys.  In this forum I have not rec'd a message but you have replied to my posts.  Should I be getting messages for the replies you post?  One last question.  I have smarty errors and want to know where I shoud post those errors?  Thanks again for the help in the past and the work that you do on this forum!  TT

You can install without sending/receiving this email. The mail is send from your server to the email address you chose. Not related to outlook or CMSms domain.
Please check you fit the requirements :

I don't know about the software (SMF) driving this forums and its settings. I only use "replies to your messages" and "unread posts since last login".

Please read this :
http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/index.ph ... 661.0.html
It explains how to ask for help as we are not in front of your screen.

BTW, please use carriage returns to make your posts more readable or they could be too boring to answer.
