Installation problem on IIS/MySQL/Win XP MCE (Solved)

I've tried installing ver 1.2.2.  When the process reach step 4, it stopped with the following:-

Success!

I was not able to proceed any further. I've checked the cms directory and noted that the config.php which I've have created is still empty. Seems like this is not updated even though I've granted write access to the folder.

Would appreciate some help on this.

Stupid question but did you give permission to the config file directly? Double check your permissions on it and that might handle your issue. This does sound like a permissions issue.

Yup. Checked many many times on the permissioning. It's not the issue.  Even the step 1 confirm that write access was granted to config.php.

Had a glance at the php script running step4. Seems to me though somehow that step 4 was not completely executed. Don't know enough about PHP to solve this though.

Nope. I've not tried Xampp nor intend to.

My current machine is running IIS5.1 & MySQL5.0. Due to certain existing application, I would like to stick with IIS and not switch to Apache.

Nope. Originally had 2 - one on the upload size limit and the other on the session.save path which I had resolved.

I finally managed to locate the problem and got the cms installed.
These are the key areas to note:-
1.  set the error_reporting to E_ALL | E_STRICT.  In my case, the default E_ALL did not highlight the problems encountered during the installation

2.  I've granted write access to the cms directory via IIS service manager & during step 1 of the installation, the results showed that write access has been granted to the various directories and files i.e tmp\cache, tmp\template_c & config.php. THIS IS NOT RELIABLE. After I have changed the reporting option in 1 above, the script reported permissioning problems with the directories and file. To ensure that write permission was actually given, I had to do the following:-
 
-  Expand the cms virtual directory to display the nodes in it.
-  Right click on the tmp folder and select All Task->Permission wizard.
-  Click on the next button.
-  Make sure that the Inherit all security checkbox is selected and click next
-  Check to ensure that write access has been granted under the recommended security.
-  Make sure that the Replace all directory and file permission checkbox is selected and click next, next, finish.
-  Repeat the above step for the config.php file which is located directly under the cms folder.

A word of thank to those who had taken the trouble to help me troubleshoot the problem.
