Another CMS site

Post by erajis »

This is my second (well actually third) CMS site. The more I use this software the more I love it. Thanks again!! Here's the link: http://www.chenaiah.com

Thanks Again,
Emek Rajis

PS: There are a few more things I have to tweak, the launch date is this coming Friday. I thought I'd show the site to my CMS Family first. Thanks.

Very nice layout....

But music has no off button, I was listening to something else and it came blasting thru, had a real hard time getting the home page to scroll in Firefox...

Hey thanks Mark, I kinda was messing around with the sound, but I took it off for right now. I do have a sound controller, so if you ever revisit the site, it will be there. There's nothing like a loud sound unexpectingly blasting through your speakers!!

About the scrolling in FireFox, it works fine in my browser, I'm on an intel mac, running the latest version of firefox. I'm interested in what is going on, so if you ever have time to respond I would be more than anxious to approach a solution.

Thanks,

Very nice design; clean and easy to navigate.

There are a lot of validation errors, though - mostly relating to the Flash movie. You should consider using the SWFObject javascript to load your Flash, it is designed for proper XHTML documents. You can find it here:

It is very easy to use and makes for a less troublesome site.

I used the view source in the Web Dev. toolbar and it said the embed wasn't valid so I told it to clean it up and it came up with that code but it still says it's not valid, must not know how to clean it up, sorry...

It still doesn't want to scroll and trying to see the source view takes a while and I have a hard time getting back to another tab,, strange as I've never seen a site do this before and I've seen some heavy flash sites... hmmm?...

EDIT: scrolling with the mouse wheel is the problem if I wait it will scroll by dragging the scroll bar itself...

Mine will scroll, but it will not let me go to different tabs in FF. I am not sure why a Web Page would do that other than an add-on (ie: flash) behaving improperly.
If all else fails, use a bigger hammer.

There is no such thing as an "embed" tag in any version of HTML or XHTML. The way browsers handle "object" tags varies from browser/version to browser/version, which is why it may or may not work properly. Add to that the fact that not everyone has flash enabled, or has the same version as the one your movie uses.

Flash is always a gamble.
