I have just upgraded our CMSMS Site to 1.2.2 (Holetown) and now my users cannot see the tick box to mark a page as active or show in menu when they are editing their own content.
The users are listed as editors and in some cases owners of the individual pages but still the only tick box available on the options page is the one for making a page cacheable.
When I log in as an admin I can see the tick boxes, is there a new permission I need to give for this now? I have tried giving the permission to 'Modify Page Structure' but this enables access to activate/deactivate all pages - whereas I only want the user to be able to do this on their own pages.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

tick -> Modify Page Structure
Re: Where has the Tick Box gone to mark a page as active????
Thanks! I was looking into this myself!

Thanks for the response but this doesn't solve my problem - I noticed this permission checkbox but it allows access to all pages....
It used to be that the users could change this only on the pages they had access to, is there a way to get this functionality back?

Re: Where has the Tick Box gone to mark a page as active????
This was changed in the 1.2 series so that users without 'modify site structure' permission couldn't activate/deactivate/show/hide pages or change the page alias, and potentially mess up the layout and/or functionality of the site. They're only allowed to edit the content on the page if they're listed as an 'additional editor'.

Re: [Solved] Where has the Tick Box gone to mark a page as active????
Like several others I have been struggling with the "activate" issue described in this thread.
I agree that users are only allowed to edit the content on the page if they're listed as an 'additional editor'.
However currently when a low-priority editor-like user *without* "modify site structure" permissions (because they are not that trusted) edits a page then the page gets automatically decativated until a high-priority administrator-like user activates the page for them. Surely this cannot be right? I would have expected that when a user is given permission to edit a page they should be able to do so without the system automatically deactivating the page.
The fix mentioned at http://trac.cmsmadesimple.org/cgi-bin/t ... geset/4237
seems NOT to resolve this?
At least I am the stage of wanting to rollout devolved editing rather than having any users actually affected by the changes in version 1.2 !

That issue was fixed in 1.2.1.... though I recommend you upgrade to 1.2.2

Re: [Solved] Where has the Tick Box gone to mark a page as active????
To clarify.
I have upgrade to CMS Made Simple 1.2.2 "Holetown".
I have "webmaster" with full admin rights.
I have "testuser" with no "modify page structure" rights.
( in "Library" group with rights "add pages", "remove pages", "modify files")
Consider a page owned by "webmaster" with "testuser" and "Library" group as an additional editors.
I login in IE as testuser and edit the page. Note options tab starts with cachable and does not show active or showinmenu as expected since the testuser does not have "modify page structure". When I submit the edits, the page disappears from the site (error404).
I login in Firefox as "webmaster" I then see the page has become inactive and duly reactivate it.
That is my issue.
Unfortunately it is nursery pickup time so I have to go off-line...

Re: [Solved] Where has the Tick Box gone to mark a page as active????
Anybody find a resolution to this?
I upgraded to HoleTown today hoping to fix this issue, but I still can't allow my users to activate/deactivate the pages they own, without giving them rights to activate/deactive/delete pages that don't belong to them.
I am not understanding why a user that is listed as an owner of the page, does not have the option to activate/deactivate it. Can anybody clarify whether this is a bug or expected behavior? Does anybody have any work-arounds that don't give my users the "key to the kingdom?"
thanks,
keln
