What do I type in the params for polls and chat

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

What do I type in the params for polls and chat

Post by joy »

Hi,
When I put the polls and chat iin a page, i do not know what to type in the area that says params

{cms_module module='polls' params}

What is the easiest way to just put the poll in the sidebar menu?  Thank you.

"params" should be removed and replaced with parameters from the HELP file of any given module. If you see the params field added in a tag. It is essentially telling you there are parameters that can work with it (although not all have params in there by default.

Long story short - replace the params with real optional parameters listed in the help file. Also, if you don't want to list parameters of the bat, you most likely wont have to. However, ther params must be deleted from the tag in either case or it will cause an error.

Good luck

Okay, I see now that it wants ajax 1.5 to operate the polls.  I tried to get that version, but it won't let me download.  I have another module that required ajax 1.2, I uploaded it last night and that module is now working.  I have another module, CHAT, that wants ajax 1.4....... so, I'm kind of [glow=red,2,300]stuck[/glow] with some of the content not going to work for my inadequate know how :/

I really like this code, hope to get in the swing of it over the next few weeks.  Thanks for helping :)
