Need help with the Pools module

Guys-

I'm trying to determine the exact functionality that exists in the current polls module.  Can anyone help me get that information.



In addition to the functionality the poll project may have, I have a desire to get some kind of a poll working where I can email a list of folks and each of people I email (and only those specific people) and vote only once and have the results display on a page?

Anyone have any suggestions on how to accomplish this?
