Issue after upgrade

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

I've just upgraded a site from 1.0.2 (Old, I know) to the latest 1.2.1 version. Now I'm running at least one issues:

The news module no longer functions. I get a message saying "string(67) "Smarty error: unable to read resource: "module_db_tpl:News;summary""". What's the right thing to do here? downgrade the news module back to the version I was using before, or is there a fix I can use to get it working again?

Next time I promise I'll use the search function first before asking a question :).

This has been addressed in this forum before, and I know have it working again (Although the upgrade did destroy my templates)

Jeroen,

as of 1.1 does News store its templates in the DB. As you upgraded from earlier version to a version after 1.1, you'll have to make the templates. You can do this from within the NEWS-module, where you should create a default template for both the SUMMARY and the DETAIL, by just pressing the "restore to default" and give it a name, under the textarea, you'll then find the template which you should mark as "default", to have that one pulled by default.

I dont think your templates are killed, they are probably stored in the \news folder as a file-template

Thanks for that clarification. I've indeed found my templates in the backup I made (of course :)) of the old version. Everything is back to normal now.
