New ImageWorks Studio Website

Post by savagekabbage »

I've spent the last few months porting over our website to the latest version of CMSMS. Lots of changes this time around, including:

- Before, all of our forms were integrated with a CRM solution, and were separate from the CMS. Now that you can submit Form Results to a UDT we can contain everything within the CMS!
- If you check out the exhibit section, you will see a variety of Exhibits & Products, each exhibit is it's own content page, creating basic catalog functionality. This was achieved with a UDT that pulls all child pages from the database and displays them.
- I had to hack the horizontal navigation to keep it contained within the with of the site, I'd love to find a better solution if anyone has one :)

If you have any questions about how anything was accomplished feel free to ask!

Find the site at: http://www.imageworksstudio.com/

Very nice site... i like the JS efects and all the layout.. pretty advanced.

I just dont understand one thing.. is there supposed to be some content blocks at the bottom at the page below the footer?
Is this for the SEO? Never seen that..  :)

when you write pages for GOOGLE instead of for PEOPLE; that's what you end up with.. a bunch of jibberishy nonsense that goes on and on.

love it. but do get rid of the crap at the bottom regardless of what google thinks. it is confusing. always assume that a potential client visiting your site knows nothing about the Internet; they would definetly get confused by the extras at the bottom.

nice and professional otherwise. nice menu too.

Thanks for the comments guys. I personally hate all of the additional text, but that's out of my control unfortunately.

I like how the menus turned out on this site. I had to do some CSS "hacking" to get the right-most drop downs to position correctly. Does anyone know of a better solution for this?

The site looks great  :o.

There are a couple of things I'm wondering though.
The Search module. How did you change the search button into an image? Also, how can you get rid of the "search" text to the left of the search input box?
The menu. How did you manage to change the drop-down menu into images?

I'm fairly new at this so any help is appreciated, thanks in advance  :-*.

You can do that by changing the menu template making yeach menu list element with different ID. There have been some topics about that in the forum. ;)

Very nice site.

One small remark, while checking http://clients.imageworksstudio.com/cli ... t_viewer/B in IE6, there is more content shown and even a right sidebar below the footer.

@cscmsms

Under "Extensions -> Search -> Search template"
{$startform}
{$label}: {$inputbox}
{if isset($hidden)}{$hidden}{/if}

{$endform}

The part in red shows the label and the ":" in front of the searchbox.

hi

can you explain how you did this ? (the menu drop down's changing for the last 2 options)

also, how did you get the rounded image at the bottom of each drop down menu ?

Nice site.. but very confusing when I click>> Click here to read more about ImageWorks
>>Get a quote to maximize your brand’s potential
etc...

Don't know where to look at... or if this site still under construction.?

Hi rosgar, thanks for noticing that. For some reason TinyMCE is screwing up my CMS_SELFLINK tags... the issue has been fixed.

Am I the only one who doesn't see the pop-up menus when using javascript/adobe flash 9 in Firefox? On linux (PCLinuxOS).

WOOPS....................

Database Connection Failed
Error: Too many connections (1040)
Function Performed: CONNECT
Host/DB: localhost/imageworks_website
Database Type: mysql

Must be a good site - too many people looking at it?
