newbie question : CMSMS & CSS & Design & FCKEditor : any recommandation ?

Hello,

I helped friends of mine to bring up a web site with CMSMS. They were very pleased and started to play (use) with it.

Unfortunatly they thought FCKEditor was like oOo or MS Word and changed the font, color etc.. on each page content (they even added those ugly formated tables)

They were happy and I was depressed (btw they broke a few templates)

I'd prefer they only produce content and let stylesheets format it.

I'm wondering :
1) would I lock up everything ? (it's not a very constructive way)
2) Let they do what they want, it's their site now and I can't help it;
3) Any other idea to suggest they produce only content ... with a not so brillant editor

In the admin area you can customize the FCK toolbar and set specific styles which would be available from the "styles" pull-down menu in the editor (have not "had to do" either of those here); but a little tutoring on some "dos and don'ts" would maybe be more effective (this we do).

usually users will understand if you tell it like this

"if you add lousy content, your search ranking will drop"

"if you add lousy content, people dont want to visit your site"

"if you add lousy content, people who dont have the latest and greatest browser wont see the site correctly and you will loose customers"

at least that has helped with some sites..

Your users are at least editing the content. I have tens of sites that once set up havent been touched (even one where the company name changed...)
