Thumbnails + Thickbox in content page and newsarticle

I've got the Album and PicasaWebAlbumBrowser module running fine. Albums show ok, thumbnails show ok and the thickbox template works. But..

What I would like to do is include one or two thumbnails in some pages and in newsarticles which use a thickbox-like template when clicked.

is this possible? and if so, how can I achieve this?

I believe if you have the thick/lightbox js call in the head of the template any link with rel="lightbox" or "thickbox" they will show in the thickbox style... anylink...
