I have downloaded many of these programs, now, sadly. They are all as clear as mud to operate.
All I want is a program that will edit, quite basically, a site that already exists.
I dont want to build a site nor do I want the site littered with textareas.
Is such a thing possible?
How to edit an existing site
Re: How to edit an existing site
There are probably no open source content management systems that rely on existing html files and just modifying them in an editor. That's what Dreamweaver and Contribute are for...
However, CMSMS (and others in the same genre) give you a lot of freedom to take an existing site and fit it in to our setup. Templates are pure html. You just replace the area where the content goes with a {content} tag.
It's been covered before, but I'm sure some of our more "regulars" will probably have a story or two of massaging an existing site into CMSMS without a ton of work.
Anyone?
