[SOLVED] Can't Upload flv files via Front End File Management (Uploads)

Post by applejack »

I am trying to upload via Front End File Management (Uploads) files of type .flv but even though I have added both flv and .flv to the file type preferences it still gives the error Error: Files with that name (probably extension) are not allowed (filename.flv).

The file size is not an issue.

I just downloaded a sample .flv file and then uploaded it to the uploads module both in the admin interface and on a frontend form and it worked without difficulty.

I'm having a similar problem trying to upload an flv file. I'm using Firefox, I'm in the Admin panel, Content>File Manager, hit the Browse button to find the file, click Send, and I almost immediately get a "Connection was reset - the connection to the server was reset while the page was loading". I do not get this error message when uploading anything else.

FLV is included as a valid extension in the Files (Uploads Module)>Preferences box.

I also just tried using IE, and got this error message:

Not Acceptable
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /cmsmadesimple/admin/files.php could not be found on this server.

Any clues?

Hi Calguy

OK managed to do it, I had only entered flv into the file types options and not the preferences.

Now what I need to do is to get this working with Enhanced XSPF so it will also allow flv files to be added to a playlist.
