Post by venom1986 »

I have installed the CMS program and have logged in to the admin panel. When I get in it tells me that PHP safe mode is enabled. How to I disable it?????

Hi!

This is your hosting issue, not CMS MS. I have cpanel hosting and I can simply create php.ini file in directory where CMS MS is. Then I can setup php safe mode. Other way is to contact your hosting provider and he can change this settings for you

...And even if your hosting provider won't disable safe mode (mine won't), you can still use CMSMadeSimple. The only inconvenience I've found is having to upload files/modules by FTP instead of through the CMS interface. Everything else has worked fine. :)

Both comments are correct, ask your ISP to change the safe_mode. If you want the message gone, in "global settings" there is the checkbox to suppress the message, this won't solve the issue, the message just wont show.

Hi,

What would you put in the php.ini?  I'm experiencing this problem and I don't know what to do.  My hosting company says there is nothing wrong on their side.

Thanks for your help.

P.S.  I'm using the latest version and tried installing modules through the module manager.

What is it that you're trying to do - just installing modules from the module manager, or changing something else? I was unclear from your question. :)

Is your hosting provider running PHP in safe mode? If so, and they're not willing to change that, you're not going to be able to use module manager, and will have to FTP modules (and files) to your website.
