Hello,
I have installed cmsms, and all the tests were passed in "green". Also, mysql db and tables created perfectly fine.
Only after I log in to the admin, then it takes a long time to load. And once it loads, then it's even slower to navigate from one page to another... even loggin off is slow. But once logged off, then the log on page loads fast, but again, when you enter user/passwd and log in, then you have to wait another 10+ minutes for the main page to load.
1) I've read through as much of the posts here, as I possibly could
2) I experimented with the encoding from utf-8 etc
3) I experimented with the session settings in php.ini
4) There are no errors any where
5) The main/front page is pretty quick to load, which is good
6) This is on a VPS environment, and all other sites are running as fast as ever
7) I'm certain that the issue is limited to the admin section of the cmsms (I can surf the web without any problem)
8 ) I've tested on multiple pc's and laptops (wireless and direct connection)
9) I've tried various browsers (including IE 6, 7 and firefox)
10) I uninstalled cmsms and reinstalled clean to see if I some how misconfigured it the first time, but I still experience the exact same issue
11) I connect using Cox Cable Internet, which failrly stable.
12) I have not installed any new modules or templates, etc. It's just a clean install, line by line as instructed.
13) Once again... there are no errors on the screen nor server error logs
14) I run php 5
Although the installation took me roughly 10 minutes or so, yet I'm sad to say that the issue (as described here) has cost me several hours, and I still do not have an answer. I'm completely puzzled.
I appreciate your help and assistance.
Thanks in advance.

Re: accessing admin is extremely slow!
Hi,
which host do you use?
It is my guess that it is a mysql problem with your host.
I have CMSMS on several sites, and one of the hosts (dreamhost--who I otherwise love) just has a very, very slow mysql server. So my admin is always slow.
On the other sites with better hosting, it runs really well and fast!

Re: accessing admin is extremely slow!
Thanks for your reply. I'm sure that the issue is neither host or MySQL related.
Re: accessing admin is extremely slow!
and how can you be sure?
what does "uptime" say, what does "free" say. anything in logs?

Re: accessing admin is extremely slow!
The server has always been stable, and other CMS apps that I have installed continue to function without any slowness.
I have multiple VPS, and I have uninstalled and re-installed on different servers. The installation process is pretty straight forward and completes seamlessly. However, for some strange reason, the admin section (after you start the log in process) is EXTREMELY slow.
I've gone through the permission setting on all files, and can't find anything obviously wrong. I would have hoped that if there were encoding or permission related issues, the system would display some kind of warning. I have not seen any errors anywhere or in any log.
I think the browsers try to encode on the fly
and/or
The system cannot set php sessions fast enough (although I see the session files inside my /tmp)
I haven't given up - but boy am I getting closer to do just that
I'm going to give it the rest of today. I hate to think that I'm the only one who's ever experienced this problem, or perhaps people just give up quicker than I'm willing to do.
thank you again,

SOLVED !!! >> Re: accessing admin is extremely slow!
I guess I've been working too hard, or ??
I used the SSL encrypted url (https) for the admin and the problem's solved.
