News 2.3.0.2 Not showing up

Without seeing your site it's hard to say. Is there any chance you can post a link (send me a personal message with a username/password)?

Try creating a page called News (or whatever) and posting the news code in:

{news number='5' category=General}

Then in your template put {content}, and apply that template to that page. That should show you how it outputs.

I looked at the wiki here: http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php/User_Handbook/Admin_Panel/Content/News and the drop down menu for setting the Status as "Draft" or "Publish" seems to be missing...
