Different template for home and inner pages

Post by cloudy »

Hi,

I am planning to use this CMS for building my website. My website design has got different layout for home page and inner pages.

Home page is 2 with a banner in top and 3 columns at the bottom. While Inner pages are all 3 column structure

Can I have two different layouts for home and inner pages ?? Or  it has to be one template for the entire website.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks heaps

Hi Cloudy,

Yes CMSMS supports different templates per page. Check out http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php ... d/Designer for more info.

Cloudy,

a small addition to the text of Bob, I'm sure he meant that, but just to be complete.

Every page is attached to a template (so one per content-page), while adding/editing a content-page you can change the template the page is attached to, from "Layout -> Templates" you can even push a single template to all pages at once. Which is handy after having a new template.

Thanks for the clarification Ronny, my post doesn't read that well. My bad :-[

The template per page feature seems like such an obvious feature for a CMS to have but after researching many different CMS systems it seems that not the case.

Just another things that makes CMSMS so great  :D
