[SOLVED] Serious problem with upgrade

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

[SOLVED] Serious problem with upgrade

Post by Datrax »

Hi,
Upgrading (diff files) from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 I forgot to cmod config.php to write access. Nou my site says 'Site down for maintenance'.
Tried to do it all over with config.php to write access, with no result. Tried a full upgrade but trying to access the install/upgrade.php gives 'Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/domain/httpdocs/lib/module.functions.php on line 87'

This is a site with lots of weeks of work so I hope someone can help....

Thanks in advance
Joop

It was very simple: clear cache (Global settings or manualy remove file /tmp/cache/SITEDOWN)

If you have a backup, restore and upgrade again

Thanks Alby.
Removing the sitedown file in cache only gives another parse error. And (this time) I only made a backup of the database and not the files  :-[
I hope there is still a way to get it working again...

Joop,

what did you exactly do. 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 has no DB-change, so no install/upgrade.php was necessary (or even possible, as there will be no install-folder be there), also there is no change in the config.php.

What do you mean with the "full upgrade", what did you transfer, the diff or the complete package?

Hi Ronny,

First transferred the diff and then (panic) the full package....

You have backup DB. OK.

Reupload full pack (your parse error are probably a error FTP of some files)
Link to www.mysite.com/install/install.php
Check for error messages and if work well. IMPORTANT: NOT WRITE to DB (step 4? I don't remember)

Alby,

install/install.php doesn't exist anymore. I think the workaround is having an empty config.php.

Alby,

he had a full installation on 1.1.1 and wanted to upgrade to 1.1.2. He used the 1.1.2-diff to do so. This didn't work, so he copied the full-package of 1.1.2 over his installation. install/upgrade.php doesn't work, so I told him to start the installation again, but in the latest versions, there is no install/install.php, as that one is now started if no filled config.php is available. To start the installation wizard, I told him to create an empty config.php again, to have the wizard be started and indeed, NOT to create tables and NOT to install default content.

I only wanted to tell you that the install/install.php isn't there anymore in recent packages.....
