XHTML and CSS compliant???

Post by tarr »

Hi,
I just discovered this good looking CMS and I have a question.
The infopage says that CMS Made Simple is XHTML and CSS compliant, but it just does not validate
Is this just a momentary issue or what?  :)

Welcome...

You should run a default install thru the validator...

The invalid things you found may have to do with the forum itself...

Mmmh, I did not mean to link the forum's validation, even if SMF does usually validates. ::)

The very homepage doesn't validate

Thank you for the welcome  ;)

nope, wasnt the wysiwygs (what you see is not what you wanted)

the problems was in the RSS feed coming from feedburner (double tags) and with two paypal links not having alt tags in for the image (probably copy pasted directly from paypal)

Thanks for the notification, these problems are now fixed.

Just goes to show you that even though the CMS is XHTML and CSS compliant some custom coding isn't.  That isn't CMSMS' fault.

yup, it seems that some of the strings we pull from smf are in different encoding (latest posts on the right side)..

atm, it validates, but as soon as someone posts on the forum with different charset it will not...

what I cant understand is why smf doesnt give us stuff in utf8...

Like I said this is a forum and not the website/coding you will be using when you make your site with CMSMS, and besides just because it will let you use valid code in your site you can always make a mess of it if you want... ;)
