Intranet basics

Hi folks.

I like to ask other members for a bit better understanding of how I can use CMSMS to share folders. I have created some basic groups and users and assigned the users to the groups and then given the groups permissions to modify and manage various things. I also created folders for example departments so each group could manage it's own folder as necessary.

The folders don't show up when I log in as user with the group assignments.

Would anyone be able to enlighten me as to what I may be missing or overlooking here? Perhaps this is not the intended use for cmsms?

Currently there's IMHO no permission / option to do that ...

What do you call an intranet ? What features do you want ?

so i hav a LAN and i need to create an intranet to share Docs...

this is what i mean by an intranet (web site just for the LAN)

as said above, CMSms is not intended as a doc sharing tool today.

It is not intended to do it, but may be it can do it : have a try of this module combinaison : FrontEndUser+Upload.

What is your definition of "sharing docs"?...

If you want ppl. in the intranet to be able to download or read the files you may just be able to put them in the uploads folder and have links on pages for them to view/download them, to give the ability to upload and then download them you can use the Uploads module like we do for the Themes site...
