moving cmsms to root

Hi

Does any one have an idea for this scenario

I have  a customer that I need to install CMSMS on their current web server
The thing is that their current site has to remain running until final approval of the CMSMS site
Can I create the cms in a new folder (newsite) and once approved move the site to the root folder?
Will all my connection (database, email etc) stay connected or will I have to re-connect everything again?

Any other way of doing this?

Steven,

when you move a site, you have to change the config.php in the CMSMS-root, to reflect the new paths.

Another method is using the .htaccess to do a redirect. Another method is doing a URL-forward, aka a index.php file in the root, that forwards to the subfolder.

All of these methods are described in the forum. The moving/changing is part of the tips/tricks area.
