SitePusher : Call for Beta Testers

Post by calguy1000 »

First off, What is SitePusher?
Sitepusher is a module for CMS Made Simple 1.1.1 that will push your entire site via ftp from one server to another.
It will:
  • Test FTP Connections
  • Test Database Connections
  • Test the HTTP URL and path
  • Backup your database (mysqldump)
  • FTP All files (including modules, images, backup files, everything (it doesn't care) to the other server
  • Write a new config.php on the remote server
  • Create the tmp directory with wide open permissions on the remote server
  • import the database on the remote server
Now I need four or five beta testers.  Somebody that's been using CMS Made simple for a while (6 months or more preferrably)... and somebody who will do a real testing of this module.  The intent is that this will be one of the most valued modules for website developers to use to push their sites live.

If you have the time to do some testing, and would like to test, report bugs, suggest new features, then I'm all for it.  I don't think this should take any longer than a week, running a few tests.

I hope to finish up and be able to release the first beta by tomorrow, Tuesday at the latest (this is a long weekend coming up).  And will be emailing people the .tar.gz files so that they can test.

ALL bugs and feature requests will be stored in the tracker, I won't be answering bug reports in the forum for SitePusher. so you'll need to have a username on the forge. At the same time, I'll be registering the project for translations, so beta testers can translate too.

The intent here is that after the beta cycle, I can ignore this module for a while.... and Intend to, I have a long list of things to try to do.  So, quality testing is key.

I hope I can find the four or five people I need for testing soon.
Thanks.
