I have CMSMS installed but cant view site.

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

I have CMSMS installed but cant view site.

Post by leet8845 »

Hi,

I have installed CMSMS to a sub-directory on my website I can access the login page and menus fine http://www.mydomain.co.uk/admin/admin/index.php (my subdirectory is called admin). I havent changed anything yet.

When I try to view the site http://www.mydomain.co.uk/admin/ I get HTTP 403 This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage.

I have not yet uninstalled the install directory do I need to remove it before I can view the site?

Any help truly appreicated

You would be advised to change the name of your subfolder...

Thanks for your responce,

Will the name of the subfolder affect the performance of the system?, this is just a trial for me to get used to the CMSMS I wont be using the directory for public access.

It's not as simple as just changing the directory name is it?

I can view my site at http://www.mydomain.co.uk/admin/index.php?page=home

There are some hoster (e.g. 1&1), where name "admin" is predefined for accout administration. But's not a point for slowing down performance.

You have to change config.php too.
